Schedule and format arrangements
Competition format
- Stage 1: Qualifier
- Stage 2: Wild Card Round
- The third stage: Formal competition
qualifying round
For the intra-department basketball leagues of the alliance member departments, the competition system is set by each department. The 1st place from the departmental preliminaries can directly qualify for the official competition in the spring semester.
wild card round
Any undergraduate team that fails to qualify for the official competition through the qualifiers can qualify for the official competition through the wild card competition. Freshmen and old students will compete in single-elimination knockout competitions in divided divisions. The quota for promotion to the formal competition in each division will be determined by class registration. A total of 64-X qualifying places for the formal competition will be determined in the wild card competition (X is the number of teams that directly register to advance to the formal competition). The specific arrangements will be notified separately based on the registration status.
official match
A total of 64 teams entered the official competition. The competition is divided into group stage and knockout stage, and is divided into two stages.
group stage
Single round-robin format: 64 teams are divided into 16 groups, with 4 teams in each group competing in a single round-robin, with the top two teams in the group entering the knockout rounds. (The group rankings are first sorted according to their respective wins. If two teams have the same number of wins, the group ranking will be determined based on the winning-loss relationship between the two teams; if three teams have the same number of wins, the group ranking will be determined based on the average point difference between the three teams (the games won due to opponents abandoning the game will be deducted to calculate the average point difference). If the average points difference is the same, the three teams will be ranked from high to low according to the total score of the game. If the total points are the same, the ranking will be determined by drawing lots).
Single elimination system
Until the winner is determined.
Game time and place
game time
- Regional qualifiers: each department arranges itself;
- Wild card competition: Autumn semester, specific time will be notified later;
- Formal competition: Spring semester, specific time will be notified later.
Competition location
The games are all held at the Dongcao Basketball Court, and the four basketball courts used are 1, 2, 4, and 5. Before the game, the venue will be occupied by staff from the Cultural and Sports Activities Department. If there are four games that start at the same time, the specific allocation of venues will be based on the order in the schedule. Venues 1, 2, 4, and 5 will be allocated sequentially. Court No. 3 and No. 6 are mainly reserved for backup. If some teams need to temporarily change venues due to time reasons, Court No. 3 or No. 6 can be used for the game.
Conditions for applying for temporary change of game time
The coordination process is conducted privately by each team, and the organizing committee only tests the time coordination. The organizing committee will decide whether to agree to the change of competition time based on specific factors such as whether it will affect the competition process. Receiving a reply email from the organizing committee agreeing to the change means that the competition time can be changed.
Match time swap
If a participating team is unable to gather 5 starters at the specified time and location due to non-personal reasons such as participation in various large-scale activities of the school or department, or participation in the Horse Cup, other major sports league events, etc., it can negotiate in advance with its opponents and the two teams competing at other times. After consultation and agreement by the four teams, an application email will be sent to the organizing committee’s email thuxhty@163.com within the deadline for changing the application, and copied to the other three teams. At the same time, members of the organizing committee will be reminded in the captain group. The competition time can only be changed after confirmation by the organizing committee.
Deadline for transfer application
Any application to change the game time must be made before 22:00 on the Wednesday night of the original scheduled game time** (the preset game time is Saturday/Sunday). Applications for changing the game after the deadline will not be accepted.
Time to apply for exchange
Limited to 9:00-10:30, 10:30-12:00, 13:30-15:00, 15:00-16:30 on Saturday/Sunday of the week. If there are extremely special circumstances that require you to apply for another time period (such as applying to be transferred to an abnormal game time in mid-week or weekend), you should send an email in advance to explain the reason. After approval, the team leader shall occupy the court on his own and contact the referee and court patrol (the contact information of the referee and court patrol shall be provided by the Department of Cultural and Sports Activities). The referee and court patrol shall agree to change the time before the change can be officially made. Otherwise, the team that first applied for the time change will give up the game.

Forfeit before the game
Each participating team is required to participate in the competition according to the time and place specified in the schedule. If due to non-personal reasons such as participation in various large-scale activities of the school or department, or participation in the Horse Cup, other major sports league events, etc., it is not possible to gather 5 starters at the specified time and place, and if you want to give up the game, you can negotiate with the opponent in advance. After negotiation and agreement by both parties, an application email will be sent to the organizing committee's email address thuxhty@163.com before 24:00 every Thursday, and copied to the other team. At the same time, members of the organizing committee will be reminded in the captain group. Only after confirmation by the organizing committee can they abandon the game. Teams that send emails after the stipulated period or do not send application emails, if they do not show up within 10 minutes of the specified time, or if there are less than 5 people present (excluding weather, venue and other objective factors), will be regarded as abnormal abandonment. Abnormal abandonment will affect the department's Horse Cup points in the Bauhinia Summit event (see the Horse Cup Points Rules section for details).

During the game, if a team is unable to continue playing for some reason, it will be handled as follows: If the team is currently lagging behind, the full-time score will be recorded as the score when the game was interrupted; if the team is currently leading or the two sides are tied, the opponent will win the game 20:0. For example: A plays against B. A main player of team B is injured and requests to abandon the game midway. If B is behind A at this time, the full-time score will be recorded as the score when the game was interrupted, and A will win; if there is a draw or team B is ahead, the score will be recorded as 20:0, and team A will win.
Field Supervisor Regulations
