"Final kick" undergraduate class football game

organizing committee

An organizing committee has been established to be responsible for the preparation and organization of this competition. The organizing committee is composed of representatives from the Department of Culture and Sports of the Communist Youth League Committee of Tsinghua University.

Event arbitration

The arbitration work shall be carried out with reference to the "(5) Arbitration and Appeal" section of "9. Detailed Rules for Undertaking" in the "2022-2023 School Year "John Ma Cup" Competition Guide".

Schedule and format arrangements

Competition format

  • The first stage: Old Student Area Wild Card Competition
  • Stage 2: District Triangle
  • Stage Three: Mixed Triangle
  • Stage 4: Knockout

Old student district wild card competition

There are a total of 72 participating team places in the Laosheng District: 36 of them are fixed team places. Please see the "V. Qualifications and Registration Methods" section for specific allocation information. There are 36 promotion places obtained through the wild card competition. Classes that have not obtained fixed places in departments or departments can register independently. The wild card competition adopts the triangular competition competition system. Every three teams are divided into one group through the drawing method, and the three teams in each group compete in pairs. Each game lasts for a total of 20 minutes, regardless of the first and second halves. A win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points. Finally, the top 36 teams will be selected according to the team's points ranking to enter the next stage of the competition.

Divisional Triangle

In the division triangle stage, the participating teams will be divided into Old Student Area and Freshman Area. There are 72 participating teams in the Laosheng District Triangle Tournament. Every three teams are divided into one group through the drawing method, and the three teams in each group compete in pairs. Each game lasts for a total of 20 minutes, regardless of the first and second halves. A win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points. Finally, the top 36 teams will be selected according to the team points ranking to enter the next level of the competition. In the freshman district triangle competition, every three teams will be divided into one group by drawing lots according to the number of registered teams, and the three teams in each group will compete in pairs. Each game lasts for a total of 20 minutes, regardless of the first and second halves. A win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points. Finally, the top 24 teams will be selected according to the team's points ranking to advance to the next level of the competition.

Mixed Triangle

The mixed triangle competition is divided into two stages: 60 to 36 and 36 to 16. In the 60-to-36 stage, the 36 teams promoted from the old student area and the 24 teams promoted from the freshmen area are mixed. Every three teams are divided into one group through the drawing method, and the three teams in each group compete in pairs. Each game lasts for a total of 20 minutes, regardless of the first and second halves. A win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points. Finally, the top 36 teams will be selected according to the team points ranking to enter the next level of the competition. In the 36-to-16 stage, every three teams will be divided into one group by drawing lots, and the three teams in each group will compete in pairs. Each game lasts for a total of 20 minutes, regardless of the first and second halves. A win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points. Finally, the top 16 teams will be selected according to the team points ranking to enter the next level of the competition.

knockout round

According to the team points ranking of the third stage of the mixed triangle competition, the top 8 are recorded as A1-A8, and the bottom 8 are recorded as B1-B8. The matchups are as follows: Each game in this stage lasts for a total of 30 minutes, divided into first and second halves, with a half-time break of 5 minutes. If the game is tied during regular time, penalty kicks will determine the outcome.

Eligibility and registration method

Eligibility

  1. All registered undergraduate classes at Tsinghua University can register for the competition as administrative classes. Each participating team must submit a list of at least 5 members and a maximum of 12 members.
  2. Each participating team can have at most one foreign player, who must be a registered undergraduate student in the department and whose class has not signed up to participate in this competition; the foreign player cannot be a student with a specialty in football; the foreign player must note "foreign player" in the "Remarks" column of the registration form.
  3. One undergraduate student can only represent one team. During the season, if the administrative classes of the participating players change due to special circumstances such as major classification splitting, the participation information submitted during registration shall prevail. No student may participate on behalf of other teams after registering.
  4. Oriented students can only participate on behalf of their administrative classes and require relevant certificates from the Youth League (Working) Committee of the department.
  5. If the number of boys in two classes belonging to the same department does not exceed 10, and the two classes belong to the same competition area, a coalition can be formed to register for the competition in the same class. The rules for foreign aid for the coalition are the same as for other teams.
  6. Each participating team can register at most one football student, and "football talent" needs to be noted on the registration form.
  7. There is no gender limit for participating team members.
  8. If there is a participating team that does not meet the above regulations, the organizing committee has the right to disqualify the team or alliance from the competition.

quota allocation

  1. This competition is divided into freshmen competition area and old student competition area, and the two competition areas register separately. The registration teams for the freshmen competition area are the administrative classes of 2022 undergraduate students in each department, and there is no limit on the number of registrations.
  2. The old student competition area will register according to the fixed quota allocated by the organizing committee. The departments will decide the classes to register for the competition. Each of the 36 departments with old student classes this academic year will be allocated a fixed quota (see Appendix 1 for the list of departments). Old student classes that have not obtained a fixed quota in the department can register for the wild card competition. If the fixed quota of any department is not filled up, a certain number of department points will be deducted and the remaining quota will be transferred to the wild card competition.

Team requirements

  1. Number of players: In principle, each participating team has at least 5 players, and there is no limit on the number of substitutions in each game. The referee must be notified and approved before making a substitution.
  2. Team attire: Players can wear spiked football shoes. The specific requirements are consistent with the football shoes stipulated in the 2022-2023 school year Johns Cup Men's Football Tournament regulations; if wearing a jersey, the number must be consistent with the registration information. If there is no jersey, the organizer will provide a number on site, and the players must clearly identify their number information.
  3. Other equipment: Each team must bring a standard No. 5 football when participating. If there is a special designation for the final ball, it will be explained next semester.

Registration method

Each participating team is required to fill in the registration form, submit the player list in accordance with the qualification requirements, rename it with "Football - Team Attributes - xx Department - xx Class" and submit it to the person in charge of the department for summary. The person in charge of each department is requested to package the summarized form and the department summary form and send them to the email address of the Culture and Sports Department of the School Youth League Committee: wenti@mail.tsinghua.edu.cn before 22:00 on October 13th, and submit the paper version of the registration form that has been reviewed and stamped by the Department Youth League (Working) Committee to Room 210, Building C, before 17:00 on October 14th. Note: If electronic registration documents are submitted multiple times, the last one before the deadline shall prevail. At the beginning of the spring semester, all qualified teams will be given an opportunity to adjust their rosters. The specific method will be notified separately in the spring semester.

Contest rules

General rules

  • In the triangle stage, each game lasts 20 minutes, with no intermission and no stoppage time.
  • Knockout stage: Each game lasts 30 minutes, with 15 minutes in each half and a 5-minute halftime break. If the scores are the same at the end of regular time, the winner will be decided by a penalty kick. If one team forfeits the game, the other team will be credited with a 5:0 win. If the actual score of the game exceeds 5:0, the actual result at that time shall prevail. If both teams abstain from the match, it will be recorded as a 0:5 defeat for both teams. Other competition rules are consistent with the rules of the "Majohn Cup" futsal competition.

special rules

  1. In the first three stages of the triangular competition, priority will be given to the order of advancement based on points ranking; if multiple teams have the same points, the goal difference will be compared; if the points and goal difference are the same, the number of goals will be compared; if the points, goal difference and goals are the same, a separate play-off will be organized.
  2. In the triangular competition between the first and second stages, if the number of registered teams cannot be divisible by three, a special participating group will be set up in the drawing stage. The group consists of four participating teams and adopts a single round-robin format. In the points ranking process after the end of each stage, the competition results (including points, goal difference and number of goals) of the top three participating teams in the group and the last participating team will be removed, and then the top three participating teams in the group will be included in the overall ranking. The last place in the group will be determined in the order of points, outcome, goal difference and number of goals. If more than one team has the same four results and the determination of the last place is involved, the relevant teams will need to make up the match.

Competition discipline

All participating teams are required to participate in the competition at the time and place specified in the schedule. In addition to objective factors such as weather and venue, participating teams that do not arrive within 10 minutes of the specified competition time will be deemed to have abandoned the competition. If a participating team is unable to participate on time and as required due to participating in a large-scale group activity organized by the school or department, please submit an application to the organizing committee three days before the start of the competition and coordinate the competition time with the participating teams in the same group. During the competition, if a participating team is found to have violated the competition regulations such as substituting members, the class will be immediately disqualified upon verification. For other vicious incidents that occur on the field, the committee will handle them on a case-by-case basis.

"Ma John Cup" points

The class that completes the prescribed schedule of the "Final Kick" undergraduate class football game will receive "Majohn Cup" points for its department. The upper limit of the points is 60 points, of which basic points and bonus points each account for 30 points.

Basic points (30 points)

Fixed quota

Each department must complete the registration process according to the prescribed number of fixed quotas. If the registration is not full, 30 basic points will be deducted; see the appendix for departments with fixed quotas.

Participation times

Participating teams from each department must complete all prescribed games as required. Before the game, if both parties agree to cancel the game, they must inform the organizer one day in advance. After the organizer agrees to cancel, no penalty points will be imposed on the competing parties. Otherwise, the base points will be deducted for teams that did not attend the game at the standard of 5 points per game;

Scoring instructions

The total number of points deducted is 30 points until the basic points are deducted. If the department completes the registration as required and each participating team completes all specified games as required, the department will receive the full value of 30 basic points.

bonus points

All participating teams that enter the top 36 stage will receive bonus points based on their final competition ranking. The cumulative reward points for each department in this category shall not exceed 30 points. The correspondence between competition rankings and reward points is as follows:
